dirty game

is there anything better than a fast lunch ride in the sun, followed by an overflowing bowl of whole wheat spaghetti, flooded with so much sauce that one bearded little microbe build himself an arc so that he might survive, while all of the sinner microbes drowned?  yes there is.  it is what i just said, [...]

troll 2 movie review

alright, troll 2, let’s do this thing. before i roll the movie and type out everything that happens and call it a “review,” like i usually do, i want to let you all know that, somewhere in my past, the idea was planted in my head that this was supposed to be the worst horror movie ever made.  [...]

six day – days four, five and six

the alpenrose six day ended last saturday, and at this point, i doubt you all care to hear the details any more than i care to share them yet again, but since i covered the first few days, i feel like i can’t move on (blogularly) until i finish it off. i challenge you to not be pumped after an introduction like that… sorry, my mood is [...]

six day – day 3

yesterday, the world’s greatest madison team was a bunch of mushroom cloud laying mutherfuckers, mutherfuckers! . . and by that i mean we blew up – hard - and forced the other teams to ride their track bikes through the clouds of debris left over from our vaporized racing ability and over the nuke shadows of our [...]

racing racing racing

yessss.  i just saw a middle-aged dude riding along on a hybrid, wearing a ski jacket and dad-type khaki cargo short pants (short), and sporting some very flattering pantyhose over cleanly shaved legs.  whether or not his choice of leg covering was for aesthetic or functional reasons, i can only speculate, but either way it was striking, [...]

Hey Big Haircut!

I made it about six months into 2010 before finally giving in to the heat (see previous post) and cutting my hair. It wa getting to be fairly large so to tame it I would throw a little water on it through out the day. And my bangs would poke my eyeballs a little bit when leaning over to line up putts. So I thought I should probably go less homeless Jim halpert, and maybe go a little more Lionel Messi. However to pull off a solid Messi, I would have to cut only the front and leave the rest untamed to sort of look like a big brown helmet. I

Summer...

We are in denial that summer has finally arrived. It is in triple digits yet this weekend i have payed golf once, a 2nd round is set up for tomorrow, and we have baked oatmeal raisin cookies and a batch of soft pretzels. Alynda is also knitting a blanket. In the meantime I have been looking at things to purchase that we really don't need. Funny that people get depressed in the gloomy 9 months of the pacific

June updation

I've failed at providing at least monthly updation. Sorry. Not even sure what to type about so golf it is. The goal for this season is to play a select few nice courses while green fees are cheap. So, a while back we signed up for a round at Arizona biltmore. Usually pretty expensive, and definately old, so it is probably nice right? Wrong. The course was definately old, but so were the majority of the people there. Median age may have been around 65. So play was slow and people were really crotchety, though rich and crotchety. I do not

suicide spaceman

worst way to die:  alone in space, where only movies can hear your scream. best way to die:  alone in space, if that’s what’s you’re into. with the space station permanently installed above our heads, shuttles zooming up and down frequently (though not nearly as frequently as the original design intended) (and not at all anymore, actually, [...]

elkhorn stage race: pretty bad

elkhorn classic stage race race report! it sucked.  there, done. what’s that, you want more?  no, you think those two words were actually plenty?  well too bad, bitches, i want to complain! first off, would it be a crime to have a goddamn flat stage in a stage race?  something me and my tubby self* can get [...]
